Getting back to nature part 1

Dear Reader,

As some who struggles with the endless joy of the Anxiety.. I find social situations quite difficult to handle. However, when researching methods of managing anxiety and ways to make me feel good about me, they say that getting out and at one with nature is a good way to do so.. not in a Chris Packham / David Attenborough kinda way, but just going for a walk. So today, my fella and best friend went to a local place known for bird watchers. Usually I would laugh at this kind of thing as I am not a bird watcher. When naming birds, I use names like ‘that’s a Norman’ – (black headed gull) ‘that’s a Dave (seagull) that’s a Gary (Goose) well you get the point, but today, I found myself in a ‘Haven’ known to be popular with bird watchers. It was more about walking in the country, getting out of myself and being mindful of my surroundings. It was a lovely place to be and when sat in a hut thingy looking at the different types of birds, it was very peaceful and quiet.

I’m not about to run out and buy a long camera or a pair of binoculars, but getting back to nature was very therapeutic and good for me.

I also named an Avocet bird ‘Jesus’ as it looked like it walked on water.

It didn’t cost much, I walked 8,000 steps and I caught up with my best friend. Today I felt pretty good. However, for somewhere that’s notorious for birds, the last thing I expected was a herd of cows. 😉
