Dear Reader,
There has been a huge amount of press in recent years about how to maintain a positive sense of well-being. Whether you have issues with your mental health or just the daily stresses of life.
As someone who strives to look constantly at ways of how I can make me feel better about me, having participated in some not so healthy behaviours in the not so recent past (gambling, emotional eating)
I wanted to provide a list of things that I have started to find really helpful.
1) The blurt foundation. This site was founded by a woman who had depression and therefore personally knows how it feels and how to reach out and share resources to support, help and heal.
It has helped me a lot.
2) Headspace.
This is new one on me.. but so far I like it. It’s about mindfulness and meditation. To help calm, release stress and has specific areas within the app that help you on something you wish to focus on.
3) NHS choices
This provides a multitude of resources relating to whatever area of health you are looking at.
For example, for me, eating well and losing weight. But also anxiety. There is an area within this site that is called ‘moodzone’. That provides audio guides for gratis about how to help improve your mood. In addition, if you have a long term health condition and want further information and advice., DONT ASK DR GOOGLE look at NHS choices. It’s called the national health service for a reason.
4) MIND
This is a specific website dedicated to mental health.
It covers all areas of mental health / help / guidance.
It is amazing.
5) Anxiety UK
A site designed for all types of anxiety. Fab.
So there you have it.. for the moment anyway.. and now I have the top of the pops countdown theme in my head x
